The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) (H.R.748) was a significant first step towards providing relief for working families who were impacted by the pandemic. This much needed legislation provides economic support to America’s workers and families including an expansion of the unemployment insurance program, increased funding for schools, hospitals and state and local governments, and relief for the airline industry contingent on protection of worker rights.

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (H.R. 6201) provides support for the health and economic security of America's workers, families, and businesses in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The provisions in this bill provides workers emergency paid sick leave, authorizes temporary longer-term paid leave for workers, provides free coronavirus testing, and provides emergency unemployment compensation. CWA recommended a YES vote.
